New Delhi, May 28 :With a view to groom youth in rural and underdeveloped urban areas for basic jobs, Collabrant Incubators and have jointly set up a vocational academy.

The Vocational Academy(VOCAD) will set up 20 centres this fiscal in four metros and Pune, Hyderabad, and Ahmedabad for imparting training for clerical and field jobs in sectors like telecom, hospitality, lifestyle, banking and automobile." With boom in sectors like retail and telecom, the need for field boys and shop assistants has also gone up. We want to make them (students) ready first day first hour for jobs that corporates need and thus create a Bharat Inc," VOCAD Managing Director A P Srivatsan told PTI. The academy will provide 27 courses. VOCAD expects to train about 7,500 students in the first year and take the number to over six lakh over next seven years. The academy is partnering with the corporate to provide students with hands-on training as well as certification from industry bodies. It has already roped in Liberty, Timex, Coffee Day, VLCC, Croma, Westside, Levi&aposs,Vishal Megamart and Eureka Forbes for providing internships.
